Continuing a Theme
New AI tools continue to impress me and improve my work-life.

I’ve written enough about various AI tools now to see a theme. The AI space is quickly becoming the equivalent of Singaporean weather; if you are bored, just wait 10 minutes. Development follows a pattern of punctuated equilibrium: Sudden emergence of very useful things, followed by (relatively) longer periods of minor, incremental, improvement before another sudden lurch forward. Here’s my most recent example.
This past week, I was made aware of NotebookLM, a new “experimental” tool that Google has recently released. The tool allows users to upload a series of reference files (documents, videos, links, etc.) and then it uses Google’s LLM (Gemini) to generate AI-enabled “notebook” files.
