As is typical of every year, I’ve been swallowed up in the beginning rush of school, and haven’t really had any time to write. But this year, I’ve also found myself doing a lot more AI work than I have ever done before. I hope to return to the subject relatively soon, but in the meantime, here are some recent resources that might be helpful for anyone who is looking to get more out of their own use of AI in the education space.
- Recent PD session materials- As part of a recent conference day, I ran a 30 minute session during a break for any teachers who might be interested in figuring out how to better integrate AI into their working life. The link above will take you to the session document (which in turn links off to a bunch of other useful tools.
- Using AI to Learn- Actually linked at the top of #1, this document is an attempt to give students some ideas for how to interact with LLMs in ways that put them to use for high-utility learning strategies. It’s developing and will likely continue to develop over time. I also had Chat-GPT revise the language for a more middle-school audience version.
- One super quick example of a workflow- This is a good example of a thing that represent a lot of my current workflow. I had GPT-4 give me a series of possible engagement activities for a lesson on periodic trends. I liked one that it proposed where students…
